Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking Experience – Bigodi Wetland and Community Visit
After your early morning breakfast, you will proceed to the visitor center in Kanyanchu for a briefing about the Do’s and the Don’ts of Chimpanzee trekking. You will join a small group with ranger guides who will lead you to where the chimpanzees are most likely to be found. The trek can last anywhere from 1 to 4 hours, depending on where the chimpanzees are located. During the trek, you will have the opportunity to observe chimpanzees in their natural habitat, along with other primates. For example, the colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys and many others. After the chimpanzee trek, you will return back for lunch at the lodge.
Later in the afternoon, you will head out for a walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. This is a nearby community-run conservation area with great birdwatching opportunities. It has a wide range of bird species including the endangered Great Blue Turaco. In addition, it is a great place to see other wildlife including primates. Then, return to your lodge for a relaxing dinner and overnight.
