6 Day Uganda wildlife safari

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and transfer to your hotel

6 Day Wildlife Safari in Uganda starts with arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Entebbe on the shores of Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa. An experienced English-speaking driver guide will warmly welcome you, tell you more about the safari, and then drive you to your hotel.

The journey from Entebbe to your hotel gives you a clear view of Uganda’s welcoming and comfortable environment. Upon arrival at the hotel, check in, relax, dinner and unwind from the long journey as you also prepare for the next days program.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo and night Game drive

After breakfast, you will then transfer to Lake Mburo National Game Park, passing via the equator. While at the equator, you will get to enjoy the water experience, refresh and take some photos at the point where the Northern and Southern hemispheres meet. Proceed to Lake Mburo check in have lunch and relax by the poolside of your hotel.

Additionally, you will have a night game drive starting at 6pm up to 8pm. During the night game drive, we will use spotlight touches to help in clear view of nocturnal and other late hunters. Likely to be spotted nocturnals include leopards, bush babies, porcupines, white tailed mongooses, several cats and many more. Later, return to the lodge, have dinner and retire for a night.

Day 3: Walking Safari and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Day 3 of 6 days Uganda wildlife safari starts with breakfast and then proceed for a walking safari in the plain savannahs of Lake Mburo. Lake Mburo is a small park but blessed with over 68 mammal species including water bucks, buffaloes, giraffes, zebra, water bucks, over 350 bird species including pied kingfisher, yellow breasted apalis, African wattled lapwing, ground hornbill and many more that are likely to be spotted on the guided walking safari wrapping your safari in a perfect ending full of memories.

Return to the lodge for lunch and embark on the journey to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park via Ishasha sector if luck you may spot tree climbing lions and other missed mammals. Continue to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park a haven to nearly half of the World’s remaining mountain gorillas. Upon arrival, check-in diner and retire for a night.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Breakfast at around 6am and prepare for the ultimate gorilla trekking experience. Proceed to the visitor’s center for briefing about Gorilla trekking dos and don’ts. Dressed appropriately with a bottle of water, camera set with no flash, embark on the search for the majestic mountain gorillas in the jungle of Bwindi forest. The search takes around 30 minutes to 6 hours to find the allocated gorilla family. On finding them, you have a full hour watching them play, nest feed and enjoying their daily life in their nature habitat making the safari enjoyable, magical and worth every effort.

After the trek, receive your certificate as a memory for your gorilla trekking safari, have lunch and embark on the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha with a game drive hoping to encounter tree-climbing lions and other mammals. Arrival, check-in and then retire for a night.

Day 5: Game drive, Boat cruise and evening game drive

Day 5 of the 6 days Uganda wildlife safari starts with a morning breakfast and then proceed for a game drive in the prominent Kasenyi Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. During the game drive, expect to encounter numerous mammals including Leopards, lions, elephants, kobs, worth hogs, bushbucks and many more.

Return to the lodge, have lunch and embark on an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. Boat cruise on Kazinga channel is a rewarding fun filled activity that includes close encounter with hippos, different mammals including elephants, bushbucks, warthogs, birds like African skimmer, little bee-eater, African crowned eagle, swamp fly catcher and many more.

Additionally, an evening game drive after the boat cruise hoping to sight likely missed mammals amongst the 95 that the park has including tree climbing lions, elephants, Uganda kob and many more. Wind up the game drive with a beautiful sundowner, proceed to the lodge check in, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge and return to Entebbe

Early breakfast and then proceed to Kyambura Gorge also known as the valley of Apes for a briefing about dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. Enjoy the lush forested chasm as you drive through. The gorge is home to a small population of wild chimpanzees living in the dense forests making trekking spectacular. Upon spotting the chimpanzee you have an hour to enjoy them nest, vocalize, observing their complex social interactions and you will likely spot other primates like red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkey and olive baboons.
