DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park
Kampala – Bwindi impenetrable national park: Depending on your location on the 1st day of your safari, our company representative who is your safari driver/guide will pick you up but will first brief you about the 5 days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking & Queen Elizabeth Safari. After which you will set off on a long journey to south-western region of Uganda. On your way you can request for a stopover at the equator in Kayabwe for a photo taking session standing between the north and South Pole of the equator, visit the souvenir shop around where you even buy craft materials for your remembrance .You will proceed driving to Mbarara for your enroute lunch and later on proceed with the journey to the most visited destination in the pearl passing via beautiful rolling hills that will reward you with amazing scenery as you take photos. You will arrive in one of the four gorilla sectors, late evening check into the lodge enjoy dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Uganda gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park: You will wake up early in the morning on day 2 of the safari, have breakfast and donuts with packed lunch. Your drive will pick you up from the lodge and drives you to the park head quarter where the rangers will take you through a short briefing before embarking on a memorable experience of Gorilla trekking in the wilderness of Bwindi impenetrable national park that thrills with green beautiful montane rain forest. After a short briefing you will be accompanied by the ranger and you’re free to ask him any question about mountain gorillas.
The trek might take 2 to many as 8 hours depending on the location of gorillas, as you’re trekking you will have a chance to spot other primates like monkey species, trees, notable birdlife among others as you listen to sweet melodies of the birds. Note that, to participate in gorilla trekking you must be 8 in number per group per trek and children below 15 years of age are not allowed to trek. Once gorillas are found, you will be given one hour to watch them as they play around, feed their younger ones, and learn their life style as well as you enjoy the photography’s for your future remembrance. Back to the lodge do refreshment, dinner and overnight stay. You may choose to have an evening Batwa experience as an optional activity.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth national park: After breakfast on day 3 of the safari, check out of the lodge and exit Bwindi impenetrable national park for a drive to Queen Elizabeth national park a home to unique tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector. A journey from Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth takes about 4-5 hours’ drive via Ishasha sector. Proceed with a brief game drive in Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park to have a glance at the rare tree climbing lions. You will arrive in afternoon check in, have lunch in Ishasha region where you will as well enjoy an enroute lunch. Proceed with your journey to your reserved lodge for check in, dinner and overnight sleep. At Mweya safari lodge, Parkview Safari lodge, Pumba Safari Cottages or equivalent lodges.
Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
Game drive and Boat cruise: Arise and shine on day 4 of the safari, have breakfast and prepare for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. While driving in this savanna part of Queen Elizabeth national park, you will spot plenty of fauna and flora species including mammals like Lions, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes, impala, waterbucks, and many more. After the game drive, return to your lodge for lunch and embark on an afternoon Kazinga channel boat cruise to watch Hippos, crocodiles, water birds and many more. Later on, you will be driven straight to your lodge for dinner and night rest as above.
Day 5: Return to Kampala /Entebbe Airport
Enjoy an early morning breakfast on day 5 of 5 days Bwindi gorilla trekking and Queen Elizabeth safari which is yet the last day of your Uganda safari, check out of the lodge and set off on a 6 hours’ drive from Queen Elizabeth national park to Kampala/ Entebbe with an enroute lunch in Mbarara city. If time allows, you will have a visit to Igongo cultural center and later on proceed to Kampala/ Entebbe for hotel or airport drop off.
