DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park

After a relaxed breakfast from your hotel in Kigali, our Vibrant Holiday Safaris guide will pick you up and transfer you to Akagera National Park for your first day of 4 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Akagera National Park Safari. You can opt for an evening game drive at Akagera National Park, while on this evening game drive, you will spot some herds of elephants and buffalos, leopards, spotted hyenas, lions, giraffes and so much more. After, head back to the accommodation for relaxation and overnight sleep while you prepare for the next day game drive.

Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Cruise at Akagera National Park

Enjoy an early morning breakfast and start your game drives in an open-roofed vehicle. A half-day game drive here offers you an opportunity to spot a variety of game including elephants, buffalos, hippos, lions, Masai giraffes, gazelles, impala, baboons, oribi, Butchel’s zebra, topi, bush baby, leopard, bushbuck and so much more.
After lunch, proceed for a boat trip on Lake Ihema, for a close encounter with the Crocodiles and Hippos along the river banks, coupled with a large concentration of over 525 migratory and savanna-related bird species such as shoebill stork and papyrus gonolek, after return to your accommodation for relaxation.

Day 3: Transfer from Akagera National Park to Volcanoes National Park

In the Morning after breakfast at around 10 am, you will set off from Akagera National Park to Volcanoes National Park. You will be able to visit the Genocide memorial center which is a resting place for 250,000 victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi and then have lunch on your way. After lunch, you will proceed with your journey to North to Parc des National (Volcanoes National Park), located 80km from Kigali; approximately a two-hour drive.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park and Transfer to Kigali

Wake up for an earlier morning breakfast and get ready to leave your lodge at 6:30 am for the Gorilla Trekking. We head to the park headquarters where we are allocated guides and briefed before heading into the forest for the trekking activity. Together with an experienced ranger guide, you will walk through the forest in search of mountain gorillas. Time taken while searching for these great apes ranges between 2 to 6 hours depending on the location and the movement of the gorillas as their
territory can range up to 40 km. The park rangers and guides will clear the way and assist you through the forest. Once a Gorilla group is located you will spend an hour with them as they move, feed, play, and rest. Sitting with the Mountain gorillas is one of the most amazing experiences you will ever have. After the gorilla trekking experience, head back to the accommodation and get ready to head back to Kigali, the end of the safari.
