After a relaxed breakfast, you will head into the capital of Rwanda, Kigali for a city tour. You will also visit the local markets and crafts markets. After, get back to the hotel for dinner.

It borders Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. You will arrive at the booked accommodation and decide to either take rest, awaiting next day’s activity or consider some activity like visiting the cultural village to gain some insight of the traditional Rwanda. Otherwise, relax at your lodge.

Day 4: Bisoke Mountain Hike
If you love hiking and beautiful scenery, Mount Bisoke is just what you have been looking for. Today, you will have breakfast, collect your packed lunch and proceed to the starting point (Kinigi). You will be briefed and thereafter head out with the assigned ranger-guide to hike Mount Bisoke (3,711 meters above sea level). Ascend for 4-5 hours and the descent time is about 3 hours. At the summit, you will be rewarded with the sight of a beautiful crater lake. Return to the accommodation and get some rest.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Trekking and cross to Uganda, 12 Days African Safari Rwanda Uganda
The Golden monkey trekking takes place in Volcanoes National Park and at the same time (07h00) as the gorilla trekking. These rare monkey species are also listed as endangered. Volcanoes NP has habituated groups that are available for trekking by visitors. The exercise starts with a short briefing from the park ranger at the RDB office. Thereafter, you will proceed to trek the golden monkeys through the rainforest of the Volcanoes National Park. Return to the accommodation for some rest and lunch. After lunch, drive to the Cyanika border post and cross the border into Uganda, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 6: Bwindi waterfalls trail and Buhoma community experience
Today on day 6 of your 12 Days African Safari Rwanda Uganda, you will drive off to Buhoma sector of Bwindi. Once there, we shall proceed for the Forest Walk along the waterfall trail. This is the perfect way to experience the depth of this “impenetrable” forest. Starting from Buhoma, at the north gate, Munyaga river trail gets you to some beautiful pristine waterfalls, a truly rewarding experience. Along the way you will encounter some flora and fauna, black and white colobus monkeys, sometimes blue monkeys among others. Return to the accommodation for lunch and some rest before moving out to encounter the community. This encounter involves cultural dances from the local people of the community and also participating in some activities e.g. traditional cooking, weaving among others. Return for dinner and overnight.
