Detailed itinerary of 10 days Uganda and Kenya safari (starting and ending in
Uganda)

Day 1: Arrival Entebbe international Airport Uganda


On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be picked up by your local
safari driver – guide and a representative of Focus East Africa Tours. Your guide
will give you a short briefing and transfer to your Hotel in Kampala or Entebbe for
a relaxing evening, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked up by your safari drive guide and transfer to
Kibale Forest national park on a drive of approximately 5-6 hours, Kibale national
park is a home to the largest population of chimpanzees in East Africa and other
12 species of primates making the destination a great destination for primate
experience.

Along the way you will enjoy amazing views of the country side, arrive in the park
in afternoon in time for lunch which you will have at your lodge, in the afternoon
you will go for an afternoon guided walk in the crater lakes area where you will
enjoy magnificent views . Later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight .

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and transfer to Bwindi

Wake up early for breakfast and later head to the park’s headquarters for briefing
about chimpanzee trekking experience, you will be taken through the rules and
regulations to follow during the trekking and then head into the forests of Kibale
looking for chimpanzees. During the trek, you will be able to spot olive baboons,
grey checked monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many birds.
When you find the chimpanzees, you will allowed to stay in the presence of the
chimpanzees for one hour while observing their behavior, watch them play on
tree branches and picking fruits and take pictures. After one hour, you will head
back to your lodge for lunch, then checkout and embark on a journey to Bwindi
impenetrable national park through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth
national park where you will spot tree climbing lions. Arrive in the park evening,
check into your lodge and stay overnight.

Day 4: Bwindi Gorilla trekking and cultural visit to the Batwa people

Wake up early for breakfast and transfer to the park’s headquarters by 07:00 am
for a briefing session about gorilla trekking experience, a senior ranger will take
you through the rules and regulations to follow during the experience. You will be
grouped into 8 people and then trek into the forests of Bwindi looking for
mountain gorillas, the trek takes approximately 2-6 hours depending on the
movement of gorillas and where they spent the previous night.
When you find the gorillas, you will be allowed to stay in their presence for 1 hour
while observing their behavior, watch the young ones play on tree branches,
watch the silverback play on tree branches and take amazing pictures. After one
hour, you will head back to the park’s headquarters and then head to the Batwa
community for a cultural visit, while in the Batwa community you will get a

deeper insight into the life of the Batwa people, take part in preparation of local
meals, take part making of fire, demonstration of hunting skills and be
entertained by local dances and drama. In the evening, you will return to your
lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Bwindi to Entebbe & fly to Kenya


After breakfast, you will checkout of your lodge and transfer back to Kampala with
enroute lunch at Igongo cultural center in Mbarara Town and at the Equator for a
photo session, then continue to Entebbe international Airport for your flight to
Nairobi, Kenya.
When you arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International airport, you will be picked by our
guide and transfer to your hotel in Nairobi for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, you will checkout and transfer to Lake Nakuru National park a
birder’s haven on a drive of approximately 4-5 hours, arrive in the park in time for
lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon you will go for a game drive along the shores
of the lake, you will be able to spot several animals such as white rhinos,
Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, spotted hyenas, elands, waterbucks, zebras and
pink lesser and greater flamingoes and other animals along the shores of the lake.
In the evening you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve


After early breakfast, you will depart for Masai Mara national reserve the most
popular and rewarding wildlife destination in Kenya, along way you will have a
stopover over at rift valley for scenic views of the rift valley escarpments and in
Narok for an interaction with the local people. After lunch at your lodge, you will
head to the park for an afternoon game drive searching for abundant wildlife such
as lions, leopards, lions, cape buffaloes among others. In the evening you will
return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Masai Mara National Reserve (afternoon visit to the MASAI PEOPLE –
optional)

After breakfast, you will head the park for a full day game drive on morning and
afternoon game drive with picnic lunch, on this day you will have enough to
explore the reserve and spot abundant wildlife such as lions, wildebeests, Maasai
giraffes, gazelles, elands, leopards, rhinos, cheetahs, cape buffaloes among
others.

Alternatively you can have an evening visit to the Masai Village where you will
interact with the locals, learn how women prepare local meals, be entertained by
local dances and drama and take part in herding the cattle in the field.

Day 9: Hot Air Balloon experience and transfer to Busia

On the 9th day of your 10 days Uganda and Kenya safari , Wake up as early as
04:00 am and head to the reserve for a hot air balloon experience, this experience
offer visitors an opportunity to enjoy aerial views of the endless plains of Masai
Mara and animals. You will conclude the experience with champagne breakfast,
then exit the reserve and embark on a journey to Busia with in-route lunch. Arrive
in Busia Town which is situated along the border of Uganda and Kenya, check in
and stay overnight.

Day 10: Busia to Kampala – Entebbe


After breakfast, you will checkout and transfer to Kampala with in-route lunch
arriving in the evening, you will be dropped off either at the airport for departure
flight or at the hotel in Kampala or Entebbe.
