Accessing Malka Mari national park
Malka Mari national park can be accessed via two convenient options: road transport and air transport.
By road transport
Take the a2 route on the northern tarmac road to isiolo, then proceed to Moyale town on the Ethiopian border. From Moyale, take the d504 road on the eastern side, passing through Yabdus and sara hills, and then through TaKaba. Drive approximately 160 km before diverting north to reach Bannissa town, a distance of 65 km from Takaba. This route is considered the safest and most secure.
By air transport
The Takaba airstrip, located in Takaba town south of Bannissa town, offers a convenient flying option. The airstrip is 165 km from Bannisa town and is in good condition. Local passenger flights operate in this area AL YEAR-ROUND. To access the park, hire a vehicle and drive north to Bannissa via the takaba-bannissa road.S
