Lake Mulehe In Kisoro

Uganda is blessed with wildlife, culture, and nature that makes it the pearl of Africa with many hills, lakes, plateaus, and valleys just like Lake Mutanda and Bunyonyi, Lake Mulehe is located in southwestern Uganda between Kisoro and Rushaga trekking route Bwindi impenetrable national park. The Lake was formed by a volcanic eruption that occurred many years ago which made the surrounding with beautiful hills. The lake covers an area of 2 km as a surface area and is 14 km wide.

ACTIVITIES ON LAKE MULEHE

There are quite a number of activities that take place at on lake Mulehe and they include;.

Canoeing or boat cruise

For visitors who would like to visit the Islands and explore the beautiful lake, a boat cruise is the best option.

During the visit to the Islands, you can spend 3 hours sailing on the lake and you are advised to use the local boats in order to have the best traditional experience.

Fishing

Fishing is mostly done using the local boats so visitors can also join the fishermen who do fishing as their daily job. The fishermen who understand the best fishing spots and mostly the fish got there are catfish and Nile tilapia which will be served to you for lunch or dinner. During the fishing, you will be taught how to use the local fish-catching methods like the use of baskets and hooks.

Birding

You can head for Gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park or Mgahinga national park where you will spend one hour with the Gorillas but the experience takes about 2-7 hours while trekking to spot primates, birds, and vegetation.
