Gorilla Habituation In Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Gorilla habituation refers to a process by which gorillas are trained to get used to humans. The habituation process usually takes two to three years. During this period, researchers visit these gorillas daily and get to spend more time with them learning about their behavior. After the habituation process, humans are no longer a threat to the gorillas and vice versa.
The habituation experience often takes 4 hours. During these 4 hours, you will have an up close experience on the way of life of these primates for example, you will see how they jump from tree to tree, breast feeding mothers and so much more.
For the habituation experience, clients are often accompanied by armed rangers who stay with them through out the whole habituation experience. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has 19 habituated gorilla families which include Habinyanja, Mubare, Mishaya, Nshonji, Busingye, Bweza and so much more. All these gorilla families offer amazing habituation experiences that one should not miss out on their Ugandan trip.
