The Aruu waterfalls are located in the Northern part of Uganda along the Gulu-
Kitgum highway in the pader district which is roughly 386km from Kampala the
capital city of Uganda,47km from Gulu, and 57km from Kitgum. A trip to reach
the waterfalls takes around 4 to 6 hours drive from Kampala city.
The falls are located in the Acholi-Lango region whereby you find the waterfalls
are surrounded by the Langis and the Acholi people since most of them are
farmers. The falls have scenic views where you can see the water flowing
downstream on the rough rocks which makes the falls look so beautiful and
amazing the falls are made of streams that make a roaring sound when pouring

These rocks are so rough with a step-like formation that makes the seamless flow
of the water downstream from River Agago. The falls are so much famous and

rough and strong rocks to get to the peak of the falls.

ROCK CLIMBING

people climbing the rock because of the rocks being slippery due to the water that

climbing during the dry season when the rocks are not slippery.
BIRDING
There are a couple of bird species that are around the falls which you can see
during your visit to the falls some of them call stone chat birds, weaver birds,
hornbills, and African Wagtails among others.
SWIMMING
There is a pool where the water that some of the water collects and that is where
tourists who would love to swim can go have the best of their time but the
management always advises people to be very careful since the rocks can also
collect there so it is meant that only the experienced are the one to swim there.
