Richards River Camp

Situated on the banks of the Njageteck River in the Mara North Conservancy, Richard’s River Camp allows for total privacy and exclusivity. Nearby springs attract wildlife to the camp, which is known for its resident lion pride. With only seven tents, the camp is ideal for those who want to experience the Masai Mara in a personal, intimate setting. Beautifully appointed with furnishings and fabrics collected on the owner’s travels, the casually-luxurious tented camp combines exceptional wildlife with a contemporary Out of Africa experience. Enjoy day and night game drives, birding and scenic bush walks, sundowners, bush meals and cultural visits to a nearby Masai village.

Style

An exclusive and luxurious camp with just 7 tents for an intimate experience.

Setting

In the Mara North Conservancy on the banks of the Njageteck River, the camp is located within the Masai Mara within 70 acres of private land.

Accommodation & Facilities

The 7 tents are atop a raised platform and are appointed with stunning furnishings sourced by Liz on her travels. Beds (twin or double) are very comfortable and the amenities are modern ensuring maximum comfort during your stay. All of the tents have en-suite bathrooms with a flush toilet and a shower and thanks to a silent solar power system, there is power supplied to the tents 24 hours a day.

In the main area you will find the wonderfully furnished lounge area with stunning views out to the surrounding bush.

This is a warm and welcoming camp, ideal for anyone travelling alone, with a family, on a honeymoon or even as a larger group that would like the entire camp to themselves.

Dining

Often you will enjoy your meals outside by candle light and the cuisine is delicious. Despite the remote location, chefs can cater to any specific requirements (notice required) and have extensive culinary experience.

Activities

The activities here are pretty special; enjoy day and night game drives, bush walks and birding, as well as cultural visits to a local Masai village and meals out in the bush. For something even more special, you can pay a bit more for scenic flights (with Richard as your pilot!), hot air ballooning or a day trip to Lake Victoria.
